Twitter Launches Blue For Service With Square Profile Photos

Twitter is releasing Blue For Business, a brand-new version of Blue Verified developed to identify brand accounts from personal accounts.

In addition to a gold checkmark, Blue For Company includes a square profile photo and the ability to link any associated Twitter accounts.

When organization accounts designate their affiliated accounts, such as individual Twitter accounts of employees, the affiliate gets an extra badge next to their verified checkmark.

The image at the top of this page shows an example of a Twitter staff member’s account, which has a blue checkmark and a badge with Twitter’s logo.

In a post, Twitter provides various examples of how brands can use Blue For Service:

“By creating this connection, we’re making it possible for companies to create networks within their own companies– on Twitter. Organizations can affiliate their leadership, brands, support handles, staff members or teams. Reporters, sports team gamers or motion picture characters can all be associated. You call it, we got it. Each affiliate will be confirmed and officially connected to their moms and dad handle based on a list provided by the moms and dad company. We will share any brand-new requirements, rates or procedure as we upgrade them.”

Regardless of how Twitter attempts to spin it, there’s little doubt that Blue For Service is created to sell more memberships.

If your brand name and its affiliates are at risk of impersonation on Twitter, having everyone verified and linked under the very same moms and dad account could be worthwhile.

Nevertheless, without additional details, it isn’t simple to measure this service’s value to businesses.

To that end, we do not know how much it will cost companies, as signups aren’t open yet.

Twitter is piloting Blue For Services with select accounts and will make the service broadly readily available next year.
